The Jefferson Foundation is an Organization strongly concerned about the Development of our Diverse Community of Youth. With a focus on Education, Communication, Leadership, Economics, Civic Engagement and Collaboration, the Jefferson Foundation has positioned itself as “the Catalyst” to bring projects and organizations together in Montclair, New Jersey which will Fund Educational Pursuits.

Special and Chief Executive Officer of Black America Television Network, (BAN) is overly excited about yet another positive addition to the Sisterhood of Miss Black America (SOMBA). Anderson said, “Joining forces with the Jefferson Foundation is a Model Alignment which extends more Miss Black America Pageantry & Opportunity to the Northeast.”
The Jefferson Foundation will determine a National Miss Black America Candidate during an official competition in Montclair, NJ. The Community Contributions of the Jefferson Foundation will be
represented with Grace, Enthusiasm and Ambition on the 51st Anniversary Miss Black America Stage and TV Special.
Anderson has pledged to unite the Miss Black America Pageant’s goals of providing a microphone for black women to air their views, a stage for them to display their talents, a platform for them to be presented as universal symbols of pride, and a starting point for them to take their rightful places in the world of entrepreneurship.
This Programming with the Jefferson Foundation provides an invitation to major access for Women who reside, attend school and work in Montclair, NJ. Young women between the ages of 18 & 29 who reside or attend school in the area are encouraged to register for the Jefferson Foundation’s Official Miss Black America Pageant. Jo-Ann Jefferson, Founder of the Jefferson Foundation, is in fact a “Miss Black America of All Time” Jo-Anne competed in the Miss Black America Pageant when she was 24 years old in East Orange New Jersey.
Miss Black America Candidates now represent much more than cities and towns. They are Global Citizens that carry the banners of prominent concerned organizations and their platforms include the initiatives of the Jefferson Foundation.
The newest Sisterhood of Miss Black America (SOMBA) Member & Champion, The Jefferson Foundation, will conduct an official Miss Black America Pageant in the City of Montclair, New Jersey. The winner of the Pageant will Represent the Foundation during the 55th Anniversary Miss Black America Pageant & Black History Television Special.
This will be the first time a Miss Black America Pageant has been held in Montclair, New Jersey thanks to Jo-Ann Jefferson, Executive Director and Founder of the Jefferson Foundation. Miss Black America Titleholders are Your Ambassadors. They are between the ages of 17 and 29. They will carry our Messages with Grace, Intelligence & Style on
the Miss Black America Platforms and Everywhere. We will exemplify SOMBA Organizations’ Mottos and share the initiatives of the Jefferson Foundation.
